July 22, 2014--Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects have been hired to convert the former Market Master’s office at York’s historic Central Market House into the new York City Visitors Information Center.

The space will be rehabilitated and restored to its original 1888 appearance and provide new display areas, interactive smart screen technology, a customer service counter, and other informational components to assist to York City visitors. Provision for future souvenir sales to visitors by Central Market within the new center has also been incorporated into the plan.

Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2014.

Murphy & Dittenhafer was the firm responsible for Central Market’s recent award-winning restoration project.
