York College of Pennsylvania’s Center for Community Engagement, a renovation/adaptive reuse project designed by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects, received the recognition at the 2021 Design Awards.
The community gathered in a festival-style celebration for the construction groundbreaking of an innovative design commission by Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects.
Once complete, the Center will feature art, historical exhibitions, and programs.
Many historical artifacts were uncovered when engineers started digging around the foundation, while other improvements are planned for inside the structure.
